This book is part of a 2 part set, which when I bought the first, was unknown to me. Only after researching and finding the original on NDL Digital Collections, did I find I had book 2 of a set.
I enquired if the first book was available, and to my surprise, it was, and we quickly reunited the two books. Now they are here. And to minimize handling, I have the distal copy to refer to.
Beautiful objects deserve to be cared for. This set of books is just a strange little anomaly. 1864 books of Edo period information.
Lastly, the process is as transparent and trustworthy as any excellent bookseller. Shipping to the US is ridiculously cheap and fast. Communication is truly exceptional. I await my next find.
Thank you
Fantastic service, super fast shipping, excellent packaging, and an amazing price. Thank you for everything you do. I absolutely love my piece and can't wait to buy more from you in the future!
He’s happy too!
An another print in my collection. I love it
Good book, excellently preserved with hardly any defects or wear.
Very satisfied with my purchase. The book is absolutely beautiful, it is just amazing to hold uch a historical piece of art like this. Excellent condition for a book from early 1800s. My order was processed very quickly and took less than a week to be delivered all the way from Japan to UK!
Fantastic print!! I love it!
I study one open page each day at my desk, each page a new revelation in narrative design, and the rich source of Kabuki theatre, especially a more recent awareness of Kuniteru! He is so wildly imaginative, even in small scale black and white!
Best wishes, Barry-san
The very best book purchased from NIHONKOSHO so far. Fantastic images,
Impeccably inventive designs, and in perfect condition with strongly inked impressions and no sign of wear. Could not be more pleased; a joy to look through every day.
Framed and ready for the wall
As always, a completely new, inventive suite of images, from a master taking aesthetic risks. It never fails to amaze me with these Kusazoshi books. Would like to know more about Jiraiya. Where he lived, his family, and the villains and nemeses he dealt with as a popular hero. And what is the significance of the frog image? Cheers, Barry-san.
This piece of art is fantastic, the quality and conservation is fantastic and i love all the details, especially the woodblock incision left from the stamp, it really give a 3D vibes.
Came quickly, expertly packaged and exactly as described. I have and will be purchasing more from here.
My latest acquisition of a Kusazoshi book, 'Jiraiya goketsu monogatari Part 1', (Ge), ranks amongst the very best of my now large Kusazoshi collection. The superb design and pictorial inventiveness of each double page by a master Japanese artist of the Edo period gives me great stimulation as a woodcut artist . The attached photo shows how I look at a different page on my desk each day for inspiration. They are truly books for the people!
Super cool book. Images are very detailed. Order arrived promptly and well packaged. I hope to order again soon
