Draw entry terms

Who can enter

You need a free account with us in good standing, and we have to be able to email you about the draw, so you cannot enter while you are unsubscribed from all of our email. Entry costs nothing, and you may enter each work once.

When entry opens and closes

Each draw is announced in the release letter, and the work has its own page from that moment. Entry stays open until ten minutes before the work goes on sale, and the closing time is shown on that page.

Changing your mind

You may withdraw your entry at any time before entry closes, from the page you entered on.

How the draw is made

No one here chooses. Once entry closes, the draw runs on its own and places every eligible entry in a random order. That order is recorded, and it decides who is offered the right to buy, and in what sequence.

If your entry is drawn

You have 24 hours to buy the work at its listed price. Nothing is charged until you buy it yourself. The 24 hours begin the moment the right to buy reaches you, and the exact deadline is shown in the email and on the page for the work. If we cannot reach you by email, the 24 hours run all the same, and you can still buy the work from its page or from your account.

If you do not buy in time

The right to buy passes to the next collector in the drawn order, who has the same 24 hours. This continues until someone buys the work, or everyone who entered has had a turn. Letting the time pass costs you nothing.

If no one buys

If every entrant lets the time pass, or if no one entered at all, the work goes on sale to everyone, first come, first served.

What we tell you, and what we do not

We write to you when your entry is received, and again the moment the right to buy reaches you. We do not send an email to say that you were not drawn. The page for the work shows where its draw stands. We never show how many people entered, or where anyone came in the drawn order.

Emails about a draw

Those messages are part of the draw itself, so they reach you even if you have not asked for our other email. Entering a draw never signs you up for marketing email.

What we keep

We record which draw you entered, when you entered, and the account you entered from, and when the draw runs we add your membership rank at that moment and where you came in the drawn order. We use it to run the draw and to write to you about it, and for nothing else.

We keep it for as long as we need it to run the draw and to answer questions about it, and no longer.

You may ask us to delete your entry data, and we will. If the draw has not been settled yet, that also means leaving the draw. Everything else we hold about you is covered by our Privacy Policy.

If a draw has to be cancelled

If a work turns out not to be available, or a draw cannot be run as these terms describe, we cancel the draw and the entries with it. Nothing is charged, because a draw never takes payment.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms. A change applies only to draws whose entry opens after it.
