Topic : Collected paintings of traditional toys in all over Japan. Seihu Shimizu, who had been called to be a ÒToy expertÓ, produced 6 volumes of this book during the Meiji to Taisho era(1891-1913). After SeihuÕs death, a painter named Tekiho Nishizawa had taken over his work to publish 10 editions until the Taisho era(1924). The word ÒUnaiÓ means ÒkidsÕ hair stylesÓ or ÒkidsÓ itself, and ÓUnai-no-tomoÓ stands for ÒtoysÓ. It is said to be a precious documentary records of modern toy researches.
